Run, Run Rudolph

TCU Horned Frog ready for Cmas!
Hello, The Internet. 'Tis the season to by jog-y! I am sure by now our blog has reached super interweb fame so I thought an additional entry was necessary.... Right reader(s)... Mom??? Well anyways...

I forgot to mention in my last post that I am a TCU Horned Frog, and have big love for college football. Right now we are playing on the Island of Misfit Bowls against LA Tech, and  it's not looking like a banner first half. To distract myself from the constant Kellen Moore love fest on ESPN, and the large amounts of profane language being yelled at our TV by both my husband and dog, I decided to get to bloggin'.  After all, I have to save the binge drinkin' for the trip home to Texas for forced family Christmas fun (j/k?)....

Since I am late to blog my mileage, you will have to remain in suspense about my mileage from earlier this week. Just like Santa, you will have to believe that I ran, even though you saw no proof. As an early Christmas gift, here is my Holly Jolly running plan for the rest of this festive week:

Thursday: Quick 3 miler in the AM before the flight out
Friday:  another quick 3 before a car trip to the in-laws
Saturday: Rest day
Sunday: Fiiiiive golden millles (with Christmas socks, and a playlist to include Mariah's "All I want for Christmas is you") pics to follow.

In other news  I have just registered for the Shamrock Half Marathon  , so it's likely I'll need to be working on some kind of formal training plan for this race asap. Of course, I will obviously be consuming a Texas sized amount of cookies, cakes, pies, and eggnog this week, so our reader(s) can expect a follow-up post later on this week with proposed running plan for next week.

Christine Here!

Guess I should do an introduction as well. I am a native Texan, nerd, workaholic, and redhead living in Virginia with my husband and dog. You will notice I did not use the word "athlete" to describe myself. I  actually started running in 2003 when a friend told me she was doing a marathon. I thought it sounded like fun, so I signed up too. I have one done 1 marathon, and a few halfs and 10ks. Prior to 2003 my running experience included the Presidential Fitness Challenge in elementary school. The picture on this post is of my sister and I finishing the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February of this year.

I decided on this blog because I own a speech therapy clinic, and recently I have found myself choosing to do un-fun tasks like taxes and payroll instead of running.

As I mentioned I started running for no particularly good reason, but somewhere along the way I started to like running.
Here are a few reasons I run:
1. I like athletic clothing
2. Traveling to races makes me take time off of work
3. It seems to help with my ADD and mood
4. I like to eat Blizzards, cookies, and other foods that require a certain level of athletic supplement
5. I love crafting, and every race gives me an excuse to make a cute race mini book

That's all for now. I am super excited to be Caroline's virtual running partner! She is pretty cool, so I am sure that now I can be cool by association...Stay tuned for my weekly mileage, and plan for Christmas Day running apparel.

Caroline here!

First off, many thanks to the lovely Christine for setting this up! I would have gotten on it, but I was too busy learning that it is possible to acquire a new food allergy with age. More on that later :) I wanted to do a quick intro so you know about who I am!

In case you didn't catch it from the blog post title, my name's Caroline and I live in the very sunny state of Florida. I have lived in Florida my whole entire life, but I am open to trying new states. Virginia perhaps? I am a public health professional with a passion for running and crafting.

My favorite distance for running is the half marathon, followed closely by the 10k. I have run two marathons in my life and am quickly thinking of new ones to add to my calendar. My next race with be the Miami ING Half Marathon coming at the end of January. Shortly after that, I will be running the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Orlando, FL. In March, I will be running in Virginia for the Shamrock Marathon.

I am so excited to be able to have my virtual running partner Christine because she is such an incredible woman! She is a great inspiration, motivator and friend and I feel blessed just having her in my life. Please be sure to check back often because I am gearing up for a race in a month, and I'd love to have you come on my journey.

Welcome. Please stay a while.

This is a collection of running adventures from Christine and Caroline. We run for many reasons. Mainly so we can do races that allow us to wear costumes and tutus.
